Bought this rack form Organized it, as I mentioned in their feed-back, got it tarnished looking, they offered to replace it, that too was tarnished, they wanted to replace that one too, but I've had enough of waiting and getting nowhere, so I decided to return it, they told me to send it and they'll reimburse the s/h charges which they did not.



Pros:

Cons:

* I got mine tarnished looking 2 times (light gray or not shiny spots)

* Only 2 keyhole shaped hangers at the top (you'd need to hold the rack against the wall while pulling a magazine from the bottom rack if it is fully stacked, otherwise the rack would tend to swing outward from the bottom)

* 2 bad screw plastic plugs

* Compromised for its price



If this item had 2 more ring-shaped holes for screws soldered inward and in between the middle and the lower rack from each side + a better metal quality this would've been a 5 star item.

Great book with good tips. I started to read this from cover to cover and I am finding that I had slow down a bit as I got a little overwhelmed with everything I felt I had to do to get it together. So, I started by getting a nice desk set up..my "control central". That was huge for me. Before this I had no place to keep paper, pens, tape, calculators, etc...I was just stashing things in a childproof cupboard and I could never find anything when I needed it. I cant believe the the difference a desk made. The other big thing for me was getting my 4 year old to help with chores. I guess I didnt know what was okay for a 4 year old to do. I only had her making the bed and feeding the dog. NOW..she helps wash windows, sweep, mop, and take out the trash. AND she loves doing it! THese 2 small things have made a world of difference in my home. The only thing I dont like about this book is all the disposable recommendations. Like using wax paper or saran wrap or tin foil on things until they get dirty then just throw it away and lay another piece down. Or under cookie sheets so you dont have to wash it. Its easy to overlook all that though. OVerall..this book has some wonderful tips and I look forward to finishing it.

This book not only gives great tips and advice, but gets you motivated to keep a clean, organized and orderly home. I'm only in the 4th or 5th chapter so far, and have gotten so many great ideas for keeping a more smooth-running home. My husband has really enjoyed coming home every day to a more organized, neater home. Our biggest problem is clutter, and she gives great advice for getting rid of clutter and controlling the influx. We have a lot to do yet, but I'm excited to take back our home with Kathy Peel's helpful instructions.

Idea is nice, and on picture it looks perfect, but when you install it, you'll see this:

The screws are exposed, and they do not look decorative, just regular phillips flat head... I thought most bathroom fixtures have hidden screw caps these days. But it still looks great from the distance...

Second issue is functionality... it works well only for few magazines, and if you put too much (far from filling all the space) magazines start to fall off through the hole between the shelf and the wall, it is just flat bottom shelf and have more than an inch of space between the end of bottom part and the wall, so if angle of magazin is not enough when you put it or if there are too many magazines, the last one will fall..

 "The BEST Magazine Rack!!" 2009-10-06

I bought 2 of these magazine racks several months ago and I think they are absolutely wonderful! I believe the seller read the comments from the previous reviewer and worked to improve their product.



After I ordered the two racks I received an email from the seller asked how I would like them finished. I chose to finish one in Black and the other in Mahogany. They both arrived within the specified shipping time and were well packed and protected. The finishes were beautiful and very nicely done.



Each rack came with two screw covers, two screws, and a removable backing. The backing was not plywood and was not finished, it was a white/offwhite... I don't want to say piece of cardboard, but something similar. It would have looked fine if I had finished my racks in white or if I had white walls, but I have tan walls so I chose not to use the backing provided.



The racks were easy to install and I was able put them both up within 15 minutes. Both racks look great! We have limited wall space in our bathrooms, so I have both racks attached behind doors. You don't get to see them when the doors are open, but when the doors close they are easy access from your seat. The racks are deep enough to hold several magazines (ours are currently holding 4-5 Rolling Stone magazines each) and are slim enough that they fit behind a door without a problem (just make sure you don't put them where the door knob will hit them. Overall I think it is a great product.

The Magazine Rack functions adequately. It holds the magazines and some books. However, it does not have a back. In other words the contents rest on the bare wall behind it. At the very least, it should have had a finished plywood back. Speaking of finishes, if it had a finish,it was barely detectable. In other words, it looked unfinished. That was no problem. I went to the hardware store and bought a small can of polyurethane finish and applied two coats. Now it looks fine. It does apply to the wall with 2 screws because it is so light. If you want to buy this type of wall rack, I would suggest that you look for one which has a better finish and has a back on it.
